CHS is situated in the Downtown Mount shopping area. The salon is a lovely bright salon with lots of natural light provided by the large glassed area down one side of the salon. CHS  is known to be one of the friendliest salons in the area. We pride ourselves on great service and offer the best products to our clientele.

We are stockists of the famous Kerastace care and styling range. We are L’Oréal colour expert salon only using the most up to date colours on our clients. CHS has a separate colour room, we do not apply colour in front of mirrors but in the privacy of our colour room.  The  colour table is very popular with our clients as they sit in comfort out of sight of  the rest of the salon and passers by.  We always have the latest magazines for clients to enjoy while relaxing around the table and have space to spread them out or use a  laptop or paint their fingernails with a range of nail polishes compliments of L’Oréal.

We have a full range of Kerastace treatments to make your hair feel and look great. There is one for every type of  hair and they are prescribed with your consultation.

We are the exclusive bstraight salon in the Bay of Plenty and have had this amazing thermal Reconditioning system for 7 years. This system comes from Japan and leaves frizzy curly and wavy hair straight. No need to iron daily, just wash and leave.  Carol believes we are the most experienced salon in the Bay for Thermal Reconditioning and have done 100′s over the 7 year period. Many of our clients just can’t live without this amazing service. As every head of hair is different we do a  no obligation free hair analysis and consultation, this takes about 15 minutes . We cannot price this service without consultation.  This service can take up to  5 hours.

Our stylists all have a passion for hairdressing and making clients feel special. We all work well as a team and enjoy what we do.

Carol Walker started hairdressing in the downtown Mount 30 years ago and over this time CHS has trained many apprentices. Carol is proud of the business she has developed over that time and her stylists have a history of staying at CHS . It is a fun place to visit.

Tired and hungry after a hard day? Tuesday and Thursday nights we offer complimentary platters of cheese and crackers and pickles with an assortment of beverages. So make an appointment to come in and relax with a magazine, a some free drinks and nibbles while you have your hair pampered.

CHS also offers FREE FRINGE TRIMMING between appointments if your fringe is getting annoying before your next cut.

We have a loyalty programme for our clients where you collect points for services, product , rebooking and introducing friends. When full the voucher is worth $15 and can be used towards service as well as product purchases
