Happy autumn to everyone. I thought it was time I updated you on the latest news at CHS.

A special thank you to all our lovely clients who spoiled us over Christmas, it is always overwhelming that you remember us at such a busy time, we really appreciate it. I must appologise to you all for not getting organised before Christmas but I will try to make it up to you with some great vouchers for you to use. Christmas came around so quickly and I was getting prepared to go to the UK to visit my new grandson Leo and of course Jeff and Lucy.

It was my first UK Christmas and I loved it. It was cold but not too cold that we couldn’t get out walking every day. I can now understand why Grace Misses the UK, there was so much food!!! Lovely but not good for the waistline. Every meal was festive and the whole holiday was spent around a table or in front of the fire celebrating the season, all very traditional..

Lesley

Is always busy at CHS being here now for 12 years!  Lesley is a much sort after stylist and her book is closed at the moment to new clients unless they are recommended by her lovely clients. I encourage all Lesley’s clients to rebook their appointments so they are not disappointed. In fact some are already booked until 2013 !!!

Lesley has a real passion for making all her clients feel and look great , after all her time hairdressing she still gets very excited about training and learning about new techniques, colours and products, her favourite at the moment is the new  horizon fix by L’Oreal !!!

Breaking news!! Kate, Lesley’s youngest is off to Australia to live and leaves 29th March. After travelling to the UK and Europe last year she has well and truly been bitten by the travel bug, Les will miss her terribly. But wait, Luke is moving back in so the Elliott’s home is never empty.

Lesley is going to travel herself this year, we (Les and Carol) are off to Tahiti to the LOREAL conference May the 8th-13th. it is at the Le Meridian and by all accounts it is going to be very exciting.  We have some amazing speakers, Paul Serville from The Servilles Academy and Servilles Group of salons in Auckland. Also Terry Lyn who runs managing courses for L’Oreal salons will be there to talk about the new generation and what motivates them in a salon. I am looking forward to networking with other salon owners; it is great to be able to talk to people in the same industry. We are so excited about this trip and are telling the team that it is going to be all work and we are not going to enjoy it at all !! Unfortunately for them there are only 2 spaces available.   Lesley will be going to Brisbane for a wedding the last week of May, so please make sure that you are in to see her before she goes. Nicola and Grace are very happy to look after anyone that can’t get in with her.

Fiona

It is lovely to have Fiona back at CHS on Mondays. Fiona is supported by Kate and they are both very busy!! The salon opens at 9.30 until finish. Appointments need to be booked well in advance as they are filling up very quickly. Fiona’s’ clients are very excited that she is back at CHS.  Nicola and Grace are happy to look after Fiona’s’ clients that need appointment at other times.

 Mason is turning one on April 26th [where has the time gone] He is the most gorgeous little man and starting to be very vocal and mobile, keeping Fiona and Paul awake at night teething etc.!! Fiona is a very busy Mum and loving taking Mason out and about to spend time with his many friends. Fiona is training Zoe and Kate our apprentices on Wednesdays 4-8. We have a special training price list for all salon services. You do need patience as the girls have to do everything step by step and it does take time. All the work is up to CHS salon standard and is fully supervised and checked by Fiona.  1st haircut free and colors at prices just to cover product costs and time!!! Nicola

Nicola is having a great year, she has moved  into her own home and just loves it,  really close to school for Jack who is six now, he is doing very well at school, He’s a bright little boy . Luke who is four has his moments and Nicola did ask if  I could mention that he is free to a good home !! We all know she is joking !! It is hard being parents sometimes and we all know there are days you could give them away. .Nic was lucky enough to get tickets to the Rugby Sevens in Wellington this years from an very old client Gorden Tietjens ( the sevens couch) She looked great as ” BILLY T JAMES ” in her stubbies and painted brown skin which she found hard to stay on in the heat !! . Nicola also has a new addition to the family a gorgeous little bundle of fur named Marley, a little Bijon girl puppy. Nic just loves her.

Nicola is in the salon Thursday to Saturday, she is a very talented stylist specialising in cutting and colouring and is a fantastic blow waver, just the person to have if you like a good strong blow wave. Nic gained a lot of experience over the 7 years working in busy London salons after doing an apprenticeship and working in the Rodney Wayne Group in Auckland. Nicola has been with CHS almost 5 years and she is a great person to work with, full of energy and laughs !!

Grace

Is a great stylist and enjoys almost every aspect of hairdressing. Specialising in XTENSO for straightening and relaxing unruly hair. This service is not permanent like our B-straight system; it wears from the hair over a period of time. You need a consultation for this service taking about 15 minutes. Hi-Lighting the hair is her specialty , always getting great results, Grace is also our Kerastase Ambassador and can give you professional advice on all scalp and hair problems and prescribe the right reference for you to use at home.  This year has been a very busy wedding season for Grace producing beautiful romantic hair for the big day whether being a hair up or a soft flowing look.  Pop in and talk to Grace about ideas for your wedding hair and ball hair or just to be glammed up for that special occasion. Grace has had all her training at CHS with Fiona and has been qualified for over 18 months, her clients appreciate her attention to detail; and she is a great little worker, we are lucky to have her as part of our team. Grace is at CHJS Tuesday to Saturday.

Breaking news!!   Grace has at long last had her tonsils out, she felt miserable for the first week and is now back at work and looking forward to never having to suffer those painfully  sore throats again!  Grace is on the move again and has moved into a house in the Mount and closer to work and play after living with her parents for the last few months.

Zoe

Is in her third year at polytechnic and is very busy gaining experience in the salon. Zoe has trained with L’Oreal doing the colour keys course and Inoa specialist course last year. She is cutting girls hair and doing extensive cutting training with Fiona.  She enjoys long hair work, her clients are really impressed with their do’s.
Zoe is the salon Google!! If she doesn’t know something she will find out for you.. She has an outgoing personality and is fun to work with. Please take advantage of our training prices and recommend friends to Zoe as she needs to be able to maintain a clientelle to become a fully qualified hairdresser. If you know someone who would love a full salon service at training prices please phone Zoe for an appointment. 1st Haircut is free.

TUESDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS.. by appointment only. Short hair blow wave with Zoe for $20 and a long hair blow wave for only $30 Zoe is in the salon Tuesday to Saturday .

Kate

Started with us last year after completing a year hairdressing at the BOP polytechnic, she is now in her second year and proving to be a very confident stylist, she is also a qualified nail technician and is able to give you a mini manicure for only $25 by appointment only. Kate is great at longhair, blow waving, treatments, she has great massage technique that everyone comments on. She is also colouring and doing children’s cutting. Kate is starting her apprenticeship at CHS this year under the guidance of Fiona, she is 22 and is keen to get on with her qualification and is motivated to qualify quickly. Kate is at the salon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Sian

Sian and Michael are proud to announce the quick arrival of a beautiful baby boy born earlier this month, Arion ( pronounced A Ryan) 7lb 2 oz. , looks gorgeous just like his Mum with a cute upturned nose and wonderful olive skin. They are happy that He is here safe and sound after a very difficult pregnancy.  Sian looks great, we haven’t seen her look so well for a long time. Sian is presently on maternity leave and we will let you know if and when she returns to CHS.

Stacey

Welcome back Stacey !! After four years working on super yachts Stacey is back at CHS. Congratulations to Joel and Stacey on their recent engagement, a big surprise to Stacey, He just slipped the ring on her finger at her 30th Birthday celebration.   Stacey is at the front desk and is working part time in an admin role, keeping our computer work up to date, keeping stock in check and ordering, and of course looking after clients. Stacey will be doing our B-straight system as well, she is highly experienced at B-straight after having worked with this system for many years. Appointments will be available with Stacey for B-straight FRIDAY ONLY !!  Stacey is at the salon Thursday morning and late night Thursday,  Friday and Saturday till 1pm.

B-straight is our permanent straightening system that we have used in the salon for 10 years, we are the most experienced salon in the Bay Of Plenty, in fact the only one using this system. it comes from japan and it is known as thermal reconditioning leaving hair feeling silky. Remember Mary and Chelsea? They both live on the Gold Coast and keep in touch with us by Facebook. Mary is turning 30 in a few days and is having a party which we were invited to. Unfortunately for us we can’t be there but Kate Lesley’s daughter will be there. We are all jealous.

We are all proud to announce the arrival of Mason James Poskitt. A healthy handsome boy born late april at 8.5lb. Mother father and Mason all doing very well.

Fiona has left us to put her feet up and rest { well deserved} and wait for the arrival of her baby  which is due 23rd April, not long to go now. Make sure you are in our sweepstake to quess the Sex, weight, date and ETA!!
